Turkey's Students Win 14 Medals at International Science Olympiads
Turkey’s youth achieved notable success at several international science competitions. According to a written statement by Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Turkish participants secured a total of 1 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze medals, plus 7 special awards, across four major events.
At the 6th European Girls Computer Olympiad in Cesenatico, Italy, the Turkish team earned three silver and one bronze medal. In the 10th European Physics Olympiad in Gothenburg, Sweden, they added one silver, one bronze and one special award. The 26th Asian Physics Olympiad in Busan, South Korea, yielded two bronze medals and six special awards. Finally, at the 30th Balkan Mathematics Olympiad in Buzău, Romania, Turkish students captured one gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
Minister Kacır praised the achievements as a source of great national pride and highlighted the role of the TÜBİTAK‑run 2202 Science Olympiads Program in nurturing the talent of these young scientists.
