Turkish Super Lig clubs sign Ghanaian players Akonnor and Owusu

Turkish Super Lig clubs Goztepe and Erzurumspor FK have completed signings of Ghanaian-international players Richard Akonnor and Elisha Owusu.

Richard Akonnor, a 22-year-old left-back holding both Ghanaian and United Arab Emirates nationality, has joined Goztepe on loan from Al-Jazira. The agreement is set to run until 30 June 2027. Akonnor, who previously won the UAE League Cup, brings experience from the UAE Pro League and AFC Champions League Elite qualifying.

Elisha Owusu, a 28-year-old defensive midfielder, has joined Erzurumspor FK from the French side AJ Auxerre. Owusu brings extensive experience from Ligue 1, Ligue 2, and the Belgian top flight with KAA Gent. A former captain at Auxerre, Owusu also represented Ghana during the 2026 World Cup.
