Turkish suspect arrested in Belgrade murder of Russian woman
A 24‑year‑old Turkish citizen, identified only as K. E., was detained at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport on July 30 after police intercepted him before he could board a flight to Istanbul. He has been ordered to remain in custody for up to 30 days on suspicion of killing 28‑year‑old Russian citizen Ljudmila Turková Konstantinovna in the city’s Borča district.
Investigators say CCTV footage captured the victim and the suspect entering a rented apartment together. Within 85 minutes the suspect allegedly left the flat carrying a large suitcase, strangled the woman, placed her body in the suitcase and later discarded it in the Vizelj channel at Padinska Skela. A police dog located the suitcase, and the body was recovered. Police spokesman Mladen Mijatović confirmed the arrest and described the discovery as a key breakthrough in the homicide case.
