Turkish teachers face tax deductions and new digital relocation systems

Teachers under the Ministry of National Education in Turkey are facing increased tax deductions in their August salaries. Due to rising annual income tax brackets, educators who participated in summer courses (DYK) and e-exam duties are seeing higher tax rates applied. While additional lesson fees are paid in full, the resulting tax difference is being deducted directly from their primary monthly salaries.

In a separate administrative update, the Ministry has launched the ‘E-Yolluk’ digital application to streamline relocation allowances for transferred teachers. This new system eliminates the need for physical ‘market value documents’ from municipalities and allows teachers to complete all travel allowance applications via the e-Devlet platform. The digital process reduces bureaucratic paperwork and accelerates payment times by allowing direct submission from the teacher to school administration for approval.
