Turkish television enters new season with major series premieres
The Turkish television industry has entered a new season, with major national channels launching new series and returning with established programs. 20 September 2026 marks a significant broadcast day across several networks.
Star TV is premiering the new season of the drama ‘Çirkin’ at 20:00. Other notable programming includes ‘Tuzlu Kahve’ and various repeats. On ATV, ‘Güneşin Doğduğu Yer’ remains a central feature, while Kanal D is airing ‘Haysiyet’. TRT 1 continues its seasonal run with ‘Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı’ and ‘Teşkilat’.
The series ‘Teşkilat’ has introduced new narrative elements in its seventh season, including a time jump and the introduction of the character Ender, played by child actor Yamaç Goral. The plot now focuses on the character Altay as he investigates a mysterious group known as the ‘Haritacılar’ following the death of his wife.
Other major networks such as Show TV and TV8 are also part of the seasonal rollout, with Show TV featuring ‘Kızılcık Şerbeti’ and TV8 broadcasting ‘Masterchef Türkiye’. The new season is characterized by a heavy emphasis on drama, family stories, and period productions.
