Turkish television and sports programming

Overview

Turkish television and sports programming throughout late 2026 features a mix of seasonal series premieres, competition shows, and major football matches. As the 2026-2027 season commenced in late August and September, networks prepared new lineups. Notable developments included the return of ‘Uzak Şehir’ on Kanal D and the seventh season of ‘Teşkilat’ on TRT 1, which introduced a time jump and new characters. Star TV premiered the drama ‘Çirkin’ in late September, while Show TV’s ‘Kızılcık Şerbeti’ and TV8’s ‘MasterChef Türkiye’ remained central to the seasonal rollout. Ratings data from 23 September 2026 showed the Show TV series ‘Sevdan Bir Ateş’ dominating the market, securing first place in the Total (8.85), AB (8.40), and 20+ABC1 (9.51) groups.

Sports programming remains a key driver, with the Belgium vs. Turkey match on ATV in early October, followed by the Italy vs. Turkey match on 5 October. By mid-October, the influence of morning programming was highlighted by a significant development on ‘Müge Anlı ile Tatlı Sert’, where a murder confession resolved a decade-old disappearance in Osmaniye.

In late October, shifts occurred in daytime competition programming. The NOW TV program ‘En Hamarat Benim’, hosted by Kadir Ezildi, was removed from the schedule, with the 13:30 slot being replaced by ‘Ömür Usta’. Reports suggest the cancellation followed a decline in viewership as the format shifted from cleaning to cooking. Ezildi confirmed via social media that he is moving to a new channel with a project reportedly titled ‘Kadir Ezildi ile Kirli Evler’, which will return to his original cleaning-focused concept.
