Turkish towns intensify insecticide spraying to curb pests

In the province of Elazığ, the Provincial Special Administration is carrying out continuous insecticide spraying in all villages. Teams target flies, mosquitoes, larvae and other pests, treating wetlands, irrigation ponds, reed areas, and stagnant water sources. Operations begin near sunset and continue into the night to maximize effectiveness during peak pest activity, aiming to protect residents’ health throughout the summer.

In the district of Efeler, the municipality under Mayor Anıl Yetişkin, together with the Health Works Directorate, is also conducting regular spraying against mosquitoes, rats and cockroaches. crews treat breeding sites such as sewers, pools, containers and unused tires, applying larvicides before pests mature. Both initiatives are intended to improve hygiene and safeguard public health in their respective communities.
