Turkish towns Keşan and Manisa face citizen complaints over litter and unmanaged vegetation

In Keşan, Edirne province, residents criticised the overgrown grass and overflowing waste containers along a road entering the town, saying the sight harms the town’s image and deters visitors. They urged municipal authorities to improve regular grass cutting and waste collection, emphasizing a desire for a cleaner, more livable community.

In Manisa’s Yunusemre district, locals protested the litter left in the Karaçay Walking Area, including plastic bottles, snack packaging and other debris. While the municipality provides bins and conducts cleaning, residents blamed careless behaviour for the pollution and called for greater public responsibility to keep the recreation space tidy.
