Turkish universities launch 2026-2027 academic year

Turkish universities have commenced the 2026-2027 academic year with various opening ceremonies and inaugural lectures.

Trakya University’s İpsala Vocational School held its opening ceremony featuring a lecture by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hatipler. The lecture focused on the intersection of technology, digital transformation, and human values, emphasizing the need for students to adapt to robotic technologies and digital shifts while maintaining ethical standards. The event also included awards for long-serving staff and high-achieving students.

Yaşar University marked the start of the new term at the Selçuk Yaşar Campus. The inaugural lecture, titled ‘Communication and Beyond: Rethinking Technology,’ was delivered by Prof. Dr. Elif Uysal. Her presentation addressed the future of communication technologies and Turkey’s advancements in deep space communication and lunar missions. The ceremony highlighted the university’s LEED Gold certified green building status and its full accreditation from YÖKAK.
