Turkish workers at Gersan Elektrik, Doruk Madencilik protest unpaid wages

Employees of Gersan Elektrik in Turkey have staged protests over delayed bonus payments, reduced bank‑promotion rates and the failure to receive the July 2026 bonus. Workers say the promised bonus was split into three installments, with the first half paid and the remainder delayed, and that a bank‑promotion agreement was lowered from a 1.70 rate to 1.33, then applied at 1.29, harming their finances amid high inflation. They also complain about strict production monitoring and other working‑condition issues.

Separately, miners at Doruk Madencilik, represented by the Turkey Mining Workers Union, announced plans to begin a hunger strike next week if outstanding wages are not paid. After ten days of sit‑ins in Ankara, the workers report that only a portion of salaries have been received, with many still awaiting payment, including severance and notice‑pay for about 580 employees. Union officials have called on the company’s owner, Erdinç Bey, and the president to resolve the dispute promptly.
