Turkmenistan advances regional energy and diplomatic initiatives

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, conducted a working visit to the Mary region and the Islim-Cheshme border zone. During the visit, he held bilateral talks with Abdul Gani Baradary, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Afghanistan, to discuss regional cooperation.

Discussions focused on strengthening economic and logistical ties, particularly in the energy sector. The articles highlight the importance of the “Galkynyş” gas field as a vital resource for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project. Cooperation also extends to transport, logistics, and electric power sectors.

Separately, Turkmenistan continues to promote its policy of neutrality on the international stage. The United Nations General Assembly has adopted over 30 resolutions proposed by Turkmenistan, including a recent resolution co-sponsored by 47 countries regarding the role of neutrality in supporting international peace, security, and sustainable development.
