Turkmenistan marks start of new academic year with school openings

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has issued congratulatory messages to students, schoolchildren, and educators to mark the beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year and Knowledge and Student Youth Day in Turkmenistan.

The start of the school year coincides with the opening of several new educational infrastructure projects. These include new buildings for the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction in Ashgabat and the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute in Turkmenabat. Additionally, new secondary schools and kindergartens are being commissioned in various provinces.

To support students, Bilimli laptop computers are being presented as gifts to children entering school for the first time. President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of modernizing the national education system through scientific achievements, innovative teaching methods, and advanced educational practices to prepare a patriotic and technologically capable younger generation.
