Turul României 2026 sees record participation and historic start in Moldova

The 2026 edition of Turul României, the nation's premier cycling competition, concluded with record-breaking engagement. Held between September 9 and 13, the event featured a caravan of over 250 people and 140 vehicles traversing a route exceeding 800 kilometers.

A notable highlight was the historic start in Chișinău, Moldova, marking a significant expansion for the race. The competition included more than 20 teams from 14 different countries. Additionally, five connected events allowed over 2,500 amateur participants of various ages to compete.

Organized by the Romanian Cycling Federation in collaboration with the National Agency for Sport and Auchan Romania, the event saw support from over 50 public institutions and companies. Organizers noted the race serves as a driver for economic and tourism stimulation within the local communities along the route.
