Turul României cycling competition

Overview

The Turul României cycling competition has seen growth in scale and international reach. In preparation for the 2025 edition, Prima Sport announced it would broadcast the event live. The race, organized by the Romanian Cycling Federation with partners including the National Agency for Sport and Auchan România, was set to cover over 830 km starting from Craiova.

By the 2026 edition, the event achieved record participation. The race featured a caravan of over 250 people and 140 vehicles covering a route of more than 800 km. A significant expansion occurred with a historic start in Chișinău, Moldova. The competition included more than 20 teams from 14 countries and integrated five connected events that allowed over 2,500 amateur participants to compete.
