Tuscany and Sicily host regional agricultural forums to shape future policies

On 10 July, the town of San Gimignano in Tuscany hosted the next stop of the “Idee in campo” series, organized by Anci Toscana. Local mayors and officials discussed the challenges and opportunities for Tuscan agriculture, aiming to feed proposals into the 2026 regional agriculture and rural development conference.

Earlier, on 5 July, Petralia Soprana in Sicily held a meeting on “Agroecology for the regeneration of rural Sicilian villages”. The event, backed by the network of Italy’s most beautiful villages and the Coordinamento Agroecologia Sicilia, highlighted agro‑ecological methods to revive abandoned land, combat depopulation and create jobs, with plans to expand the model nationally.
