Tuscany announces 18,000 students eligible for university scholarships

The Regional Agency for the Right to University Study (DSU Toscana) has released the provisional rankings for scholarship assignments for the 2026/2027 academic year. A total of 18,671 students enrolled in Tuscan universities have been deemed eligible for scholarships.

Of these eligible students, 8,728 are also entitled to university housing in locations managed by DSU Toscana, including Florence, Pisa, and Siena. Notably, international students from non-EU countries represent a significant portion of those eligible for housing, accounting for 4,765 individuals.

In Siena specifically, 3,893 students are eligible for scholarships, with 2,291 also qualifying for accommodation. Cristina Manetti, the regional councilor for University and the Right to Study, stated that these figures demonstrate the region's commitment to ensuring university access regardless of a student's economic background or place of origin. The final rankings are expected to be published on November 30.
