Tuscany student financial support initiatives

Overview

The Tuscany region has implemented various measures to support student access to education for the 2026/2027 academic year.

To assist primary and secondary students, the region extended the application deadline for the ‘Libri Gratis’ school book subsidy program to October 22. Regional President Eugenio Giani noted the measure is intended to “ensure equal opportunities for all students.”

In the higher education sector, the Regional Agency for the Right to University Study (DSU Toscana) released provisional rankings for university scholarships. Approximately 18,671 students have been deemed eligible for funding, with 8,728 of those also qualifying for university housing in locations such as Florence, Pisa, and Siena. Regional Councilor Cristina Manetti stated these figures reflect a commitment to ensuring university access regardless of economic background or origin.
