Tuscany extends Libri Gratis school book subsidy deadline

The Tuscany Region has reopened the application period for the ‘Libri Gratis’ program, which provides financial contributions to families for the purchase of school books. Originally set to expire on June 30, the deadline for the 2026-2027 school year has been extended to October 22 at 6:00 PM.

The initiative aims to support access to primary and secondary education by easing the economic burden on families. Regional President Eugenio Giani stated that the measure is intended to ensure equal opportunities for all students, while Regional Councilor for Education Alessandra Nardini emphasized that the program helps guarantee the right to study regardless of a family's socio-economic status.
