The open‑air tourism sector in Tuscany forecasts 7.1 million overnight stays for the June‑August 2026 period, representing a 1.6 % increase in visitor numbers. In the first five months of 2026, the region recorded 1.3 million overnight stays, up 2.2 % from the same period in 2025. Italian tourists are expected to account for more than 4.3 million stays (+1.8 %) while foreign visitors will contribute around 2.8 million (+1.1 %), making Italians 61 % of the summer demand and foreigners 39 %. The strongest growth comes from traditional markets such as Germany, France, the Netherlands, Poland and the Czech Republic, with stable inflows from Austria, Switzerland and the Scandinavian area.
