Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter faces life imprisonment in singer Güllü death case

An indictment has been prepared regarding the death of the artist known as Güllü (Gül Tut), who died after falling from a window in Yalova on September 26, 2025. The Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is seeking aggravated life imprisonment for Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter on charges of premeditated murder against an ascendant. Additionally, Sultan Nur Ulu is facing a potential four-year prison sentence for perjury.

New evidence has emerged in the form of a voice recording featuring Sultan Nur Ulu. In the recording, Ulu claims that Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter was putting on an ‘Oscar-worthy performance’ during the incident. Ulu also alleged that Gülter requested a specific song, ‘Malkata’, be played to lure the victim into the room, a detail the prosecution views as part of a premeditated plan.

Tuğberk Yağız Gülter, the son of the deceased, stated that he will attend the trial not as a sibling, but as his mother’s son, noting that the defendant’s previous behavior toward his mother was a source of constant conflict. The trial is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2026.
