Tuyen Quang and Wenshan partner to boost cross-border tourism

Tuyen Quang province in northern Vietnam is strengthening tourism cooperation with the Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture in China's Yunnan province. The partnership aims to expand foreign visitor numbers by linking tour routes and leveraging shared cultural and natural assets.

A central component of this cooperation is the Thanh Thuy–Tianbao international border gate, which facilitates access to key destinations such as the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark, the Lung Cu National Flagpole, and various community-based tourism villages. Under a 2026 cultural and tourism cooperation agenda, both regions are sharing information on market policies and tourism products while working to ease visitor movement in accordance with national regulations.

Tuyen Quang reported over 2.8 million tourist arrivals between January and August, reaching approximately 70.3% of its annual target. Of these, 519,409 were foreign visitors, contributing to a total tourist spending of over 7.88 trillion VND (approximately 303 million USD).
