Tuyen Quang leverages cultural heritage for economic growth

Tuyen Quang province in Vietnam is leveraging its diverse cultural heritage to drive economic growth and sustainable tourism. By preserving traditional architecture, folk music, and ethnic customs, the region has successfully transformed cultural assets into market-oriented products that generate employment and increase local income.

Since the beginning of 2026, the province has recorded over 2.093 million visitors, comprising 406,368 international tourists and more than 1.686 million domestic travelers. Total tourist spending has exceeded 225.27 million USD (approximately 5.8 trillion VND).

In areas such as Lo Lo Chai village, residents have adapted traditional rammed-earth houses into tourist accommodations while maintaining their architectural integrity. This shift has allowed families to diversify their income through food services, handicrafts, transport, and organized tours. Similar developments are occurring in Lam Binh, where Tay stilt houses and traditional music like Then singing are being utilized to bolster the local tourism economy.
