Tuyen Quang specialist high school math scores spark investigation
In the 2026 high‑school graduation exam, the Tuyên Quang Specialized High School recorded an unusually high number of perfect math scores – reports cite 146 to 154 students achieving a score of 10, with 299 of the 328 examinees scoring 9 or above. The Ministry of Education and Training (GD&ĐT) formed an inter‑agency task force with the Ministry of Public Security to verify the results. The team found abnormalities, especially in the invigilation process, and placed a teacher, Nguyễn Hà Duy, under emergency custody for further questioning. Provincial authorities ordered a comprehensive review of all exam procedures, covering question handling, marking, data entry and security of test materials. Officials emphasized that the review will be “prompt, objective, fair, in accordance with regulations and the law, ensuring the seriousness and integrity of the national graduation exam and protecting the legitimate rights of candidates.” The investigation continues as the province and national bodies seek to determine whether any misconduct occurred, a stark contrast to 2025 when no perfect math scores were recorded in Tuyên Quang.
