Tuyên Quang Education Director Vũ Đình Hưng suspended amid exam investigation

Vũ Đình Hưng, the Director of the Tuyên Quang Department of Education and Training, has been suspended from his duties for up to 30 working days, effective August 10, 2026. The decision follows recommendations from the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission and conclusions regarding personnel management.

This suspension is tied to an investigation into irregularities during the 2026 high school graduation examinations at the Tuyên Quang Specialized High School testing site. The Ministry of Public Security has already prosecuted 29 individuals for "Abusing positions and powers while performing official duties" in connection with the incident.

In response, Tuyên Quang provincial leaders have restructured responsibilities. Đỗ Anh Tuấn, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, has been appointed to directly manage the Department of Education and Training and lead the steering committee for organizing re-examinations. Meanwhile, Vương Ngọc Hà, previously responsible for the education sector, has been reassigned to oversee culture, sports, tourism, and health.

A re-examination process has been organized for 328 students affected by the original testing irregularities. To ensure objectivity, the province is mobilizing personnel from educational institutions not directly involved in the case.
