Balkan regions launch major infrastructure and healthcare investment cycles

Various regional governments and administrative bodies across the Balkans are initiating significant investment cycles in public infrastructure, healthcare, and sports facilities.

In Croatia, the Vukovarsko-srijemska County has secured over 8.6 million euros for healthcare and social care projects, including the procurement of advanced medical equipment and telemedicine development. Varaždin County has increased its healthcare budget by 45 percent, focusing on major hospital upgrades. Other regional developments include green infrastructure projects in Koprivnica and road reconstruction in Slovenia.

In Montenegro, Nikšić has opened renovated school sports courts under a half-million euro program, while Tivat is investing 190,000 euros to reconstruct a central children's playground. Bosnia and Herzegovina's Zenica-Doboj Canton has allocated record funds for sports and infrastructure, and the Federation of BiH has distributed 6.72 million KM for sports facility construction and adaptation across several municipalities.

In Serbia, the Belgrade Metro and Train company has requested environmental impact assessments for the second phase of the first metro line, spanning approximately 6.47 km from Pančevački Bridge to Mirijevo.
