Overview

The road is now prepared for a dynamic traffic management system to reduce congestion. Tomašević noted that while such underground investments are often unpopular due to disruptions, they are essential to replace aging systems, some dating back to the 19th century.

Urban planning continues with a new conceptual project to transform parts of the city center into a unified pedestrian zone. Developed by the Institute for Spatial Planning of the City of Zagreb, the plan covers Masarykova, Teslina, Preradovićeva, Gajeve, and Berislavićeva streets. The design aims to link Trg Republike Hrvatske to Zrinjevac via a green corridor featuring approximately 50 new trees, 600 square meters of green surfaces, drinking water fountains, and enhanced accessibility for persons with disabilities.
