Tuzla Canton faces multiple fires and drought-related issues
Multiple fire interventions have been recorded across the Tuzla Canton in Bosnia and Herzegovina over a 24-hour period. A significant challenge involves the reactivation of a fire at the Pauč site in Kladanj, which had previously been brought under control on August 6 after initially breaking out on August 4. Emergency services, including the Kladanj Volunteer Fire Department and JP “Šume TK”, are working to localize the blaze despite difficult terrain.
In Živinice, a major fire at the Zelenika location caused significant material damage, affecting a private residence and the business premises of “DOO MS”. Other interventions included fires involving low vegetation in Gradačac and forest areas in Tuzla, as well as various incidents in Lukavac, Dobošnica, Bistarac, Koksari, and Crveni Brd.
In Srebrenik, authorities conducted technical interventions to deliver drinking water to settlements where drought has disrupted regular distribution through the water supply network. Additionally, reports were received regarding a landslide in Kosci, allegedly caused by frequent vehicle traffic, which has endangered a residential building.
