Tuzla Canton Government discusses disability support with Moje Pravo

Officials from the Tuzla Canton Government, including Premier Irfan Halilagić, Health Minister Dušanka Bećirović, and Minister for Labor, Social Policy and Return Fadil Alić, met with representatives of the ‘Moje Pravo’ Association to discuss improving support for children and persons with disabilities and their families.

Key discussion points included the formation of a working group to develop an Action Plan for implementing the federal strategy. The Ministry intends to issue a new urgency notice to five organizations that have yet to submit representative proposals so the appointment process can proceed.

Regarding financial aid, officials noted that existing decisions on transportation subsidies already cover persons with special needs and their caregivers under the same conditions as budget users. While the possibility of increasing cash benefits was discussed, representatives were advised to submit a formal request. Any potential increase would be evaluated during the 2027 budget planning process based on available funds. Additionally, the Employment Service of Tuzla Canton agreed to more intensively promote employment programs for persons with disabilities. The meeting also addressed ABA therapy, noting that no health institutions applied for the previously announced co-financing public call.
