Tuzla implements free public Wi-Fi via EU and German-funded initiative

The City of Tuzla has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to establish free Wi-Fi networks at public locations. The initiative, known as ‘WiFi4WB’, is part of the ‘EU4Digital’ project and is co-financed by the European Union and the Government of Germany.

Free internet access is currently available at Freedom Square (Trg slobode) and in the Central City Park. According to GIZ data, more than 50,000 connections have been recorded at these two locations over the past two to three months.

Tuzla Mayor Zijad Lugavić stated that the project is a significant step in the city's digital transformation, aiming to improve the quality of life for citizens by increasing the accessibility of digital content and services. The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance digital connectivity across the Western Balkans.
