TV-aksjonen fundraiser seeks volunteers for Norwegian Refugee Council
Organizers of the upcoming TV-aksjonen fundraising campaign on October 18 are calling for more volunteers to participate in door-to-door collections across Norway. This year, the proceeds will benefit the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) to support displaced families in regions including Syria, Gaza, Afghanistan, Chad, Sudan, and DR Congo.
In Vestland, officials report a significant shortage of volunteers. While 758 people have registered, approximately 5,897 volunteers are needed to reach all targeted households in the county. Regional leader Marte E. Eggum is encouraging citizens to donate two hours of their time to ensure every home receives a visit.
Similarly, in Oppdal, local leaders Tor Snøve and Anne Dahle are seeking around 100 volunteers to cover all necessary routes, with only 15 to 16 people having signed up so far. Efforts are also being made to engage local businesses and schools to support the campaign, which carries the slogan ‘Give a safe place to sleep.’
