TV Globo announces cast for Avenida Brasil 2 and upcoming productions
TV Globo has announced several casting updates and production details for its upcoming telenovelas. The network is preparing the highly anticipated sequel, ‘Avenida Brasil 2’, scheduled to premiere in January 2027. The production will see the return of original stars including Adriana Esteves as Carminha, Murilo Benício as Tufão, and Débora Falabella as Nina. New cast members confirmed for the sequel include Heloísa Périssé, who will reprise her role as Monalisa in a temporary capacity, as well as Joaquim Lopes, Nívea Maria, and Evelyn Castro.
Additionally, the network is developing ‘Elas Que Lutem’, a comedy-drama set in the Amazon rainforest, slated for March 2027. The production features Dani Calabresa as a protagonist playing an ex-model.
In its current programming, Globo is expanding the role of actress Isabela Garcia in the telenovela ‘Quem Ama Cuida’. Following positive audience feedback and research among women over 40, her character, Elisa, will receive more screen time, including new romantic subplots and increased dramatic conflicts.
