TV Globo confirms cast for ‘Avenida Brasil 2’ sequel

TV Globo has confirmed the cast for ‘Avenida Brasil 2’, a sequel to its hit 2012 telenovela, scheduled to premiere in January 2027. The production, written by João Emanuel Carneiro and directed by Ricardo Waddington, will take place 14 years after the original events.

Key returning actors include Adriana Esteves as Carminha, Débora Falabella as Nina, Murilo Benício as Tufão, and Cauã Reymond as Jorginho. The plot follows Carminha after she has served her prison sentence, presenting her as a transformed woman involved in social work, though her true intentions remain a central mystery.

Other confirmed returning cast members include Marcos Caruso, Eliane Giardini, Letícia Isnard, and Juliano Cazarré. Additionally, Karol Lannes will reprise her role as Ágata, the daughter of Carminha, now as an adult. Actress Vera Holtz confirmed she will not participate in the sequel due to prior theatrical commitments.
