TV Globo releases vertical microdrama prologue for 'Por Você

Brazilian broadcaster TV Globo will debut a 20‑episode vertical microdrama as a digital prologue to its upcoming 7 p.m. telenovela "Por Você", slated to premiere on 17 August. The short‑form series, titled a "novelinha", explores the back‑story of friends Bela (Sheron Menezzes) and Juli (Lucy Ramos) and introduces characters such as the villain Caveira (Daniel Bouzas). Written by Cleissa Regina Martins and overseen by authors Dino Cantelli and Juliana Peres, the production began filming on 10 July and will be released on Globo’s social‑media channels before the TV launch.

The initiative marks Globo’s first use of a vertical microdrama to complement a main‑series narrative. Executive director Leonora Bardini said the format “allows us to explore new ways of storytelling and reach audiences on the platforms they use daily.” The project aims to expand the novela’s universe across multiple screens and viewing habits.
