TV Osaka travel program ‘Otona Tabi Aruki Tabi’ to end after 18 years

The long-running TV Osaka travel program ‘Otona Tabi Aruki Tabi’, hosted by actor Kunihiko Mitamura, is scheduled to end its regular broadcast on October 3, 2026. The program, which has been airing since January 2009, focuses on exploring local delicacies, sake, and landscapes across Western Japan.

TV Osaka has cited programming changes as the reason for the conclusion. Mitamura expressed his understanding of the decision on social media, stating, “I believe there is no specific cause for this. I understand it is a comprehensive decision by the station.”

The final broadcast will be a two-and-a-half-hour special featuring memorable locations and foods from the show's history. Before the series finale, five remaining episodes are scheduled to air through September 2026, featuring various guests and locations including Okayama, Hyogo, Shiga, and Yamaguchi.
