Telecinco unveils 'Rueda la letra' game show hosted by Carlos Sobera
Telecinco, together with Bulldog TV, is developing a new daily contest called "Rueda la letra" to revive the iconic "Rosco" round that was part of the long‑running quiz "Pasapalabra". The format was declared an independent product by Spain’s Supreme Court after a legal dispute with rival broadcasters. Veteran presenter Carlos Sobera will host the show, while former "Pasapalabra" director Rafa Guardiola will oversee production. The programme is slated to premiere in early September and is intended to bolster Telecinco’s afternoon audience amid falling ratings.
The launch reflects Mediaset’s broader strategy to refresh its entertainment slate, adding to titles such as "First Dates" and "El precio justo". By securing the Rosco test, Telecinco aims to create a recognizable competitive edge against Atresmedia’s version of the quiz.
