TVS Motor becomes India’s top electric two-wheeler brand

TVS Motor Company has become the largest electric two-wheeler brand in India by cumulative sales, surpassing Ola Electric. According to Vahan portal data, TVS has reached 1,127,873 cumulative units sold, while Ola Electric stands at 1,117,031 units.

TVS has seen significant growth driven by its iQube electric scooter, which recently hit the 1 million unit milestone. In the first 24 days of August, TVS recorded 35,304 electric two-wheeler sales, significantly outpacing Ola Electric’s 8,466 units during the same period.

In a separate strategic move, TVS Motor has appointed Peyman Kargar as CEO to lead its next phase of global expansion. Kargar, who previously served as President of International Business, will focus on expanding into developed markets, accelerating AI capabilities, and driving product premiumisation. This leadership change follows a record-breaking FY2025-26, where the company reported a 30% jump in revenue and sold 5.9 million vehicles worldwide.
