Twin Falls police release footage of fatal In-N-Out shooting

Twin Falls police have released surveillance and body-camera footage detailing a mass shooting that occurred on August 1 at an In-N-Out Burger. The footage shows the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Chad Williams, driving to a drive-thru window and opening fire, causing employees to dive for cover.

The attack resulted in three deaths and seven injuries. The deceased have been identified as Ashley Garibay, 23; Dale Schultz, 66; and Christopher Claunch, 59. Following the initial shooting at the restaurant, the gunman moved through a busy intersection, the Twin Falls Visitor Center, and onto a public walking trail, firing indiscriminately.

Police Chief Matthew Hicks stated that investigators have not yet determined a motive for the attack. The suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being confronted by officers on a walking trail. During the incident, an off-duty Idaho State Police trooper was among several bystanders who intervened to protect others. Authorities noted the extreme complexity of the scene, receiving over 160 emergency calls in less than an hour.
