Pennsylvania soccer player Karoline Heintz allegedly killed by boyfriend

Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the killing of Karoline Heintz, an 18-year-old incoming soccer player at Pennsylvania Western University. Authorities allege that Heintz’s boyfriend, Royce Moser, stabbed her to death in her vehicle following an argument regarding their relationship.

According to criminal complaints, Moser told investigators that a ‘demon’ took over and instructed him to commit the act. After the stabbing, Moser allegedly placed Heintz’s body in the back hatch of her Jeep Cherokee and drove to the home of his mother, Rachel Moser, in Beallsville, Pennsylvania, seeking assistance.

Rachel Moser is accused of helping her son cover up the crime by attempting to clean the vehicle with disinfectant, washing his clothes, and disposing of the murder weapon. She faces multiple charges, including hindering apprehension, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse. Royce Moser has been charged with criminal homicide and related offenses and is being held without bail.

Heintz’s body was discovered near the California Borough Public Library after her family used an Apple AirTag to trace her vehicle. The local community and the Victory Soccer Club have expressed profound grief over the loss of the student-athlete.
