Two brothers arrested for murder and shooting in Tuba

The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two brothers, Adams Adder Almeida and Bala Bilyon, following a fatal shooting at Beach Drive Estate in Tuba, near Weija. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, August 6, 2026, resulted in the death of 54-year-old Mohammed Rahman and left his wife, Christiana Fosu, wounded.

Officers responding to the scene found the couple outside their apartment with gunshot wounds. Mr. Rahman was pronounced dead upon arrival at Fieney Hospital, while Ms. Fosu was transferred to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for ongoing treatment.

During interrogation, Adams Adder Almeida allegedly confessed to the shooting, claiming he was motivated by mental distress caused by the deceased calling him “lazy and useless.” The suspect led investigators to a pistol believed to be the weapon, which was allegedly found concealed in his brother's room. Almeida also implicated a friend identified as Gideon, who reportedly provided the firearm; however, Gideon remains at large as police continue their investigation.
