Two Bulgarian Tourists Die in Separate Alexandroupoli Beach Incidents
On July 26, 2024, two Bulgarian citizens aged 73 and 82 were pulled unconscious from different beaches in Alexandroupoli, Greece. The first incident occurred in the early morning at the EOT beach, where lifeguards administered first aid before the victim was taken by ambulance to the University General Hospital and declared dead. Hours later, a similar event unfolded at the Dolphin beach, ending with the same outcome for the 82‑year‑old man.
Greek coast‑guard authorities from the Central Coast Guard of Alexandroupoli have opened a pre‑investigation and ordered necropsies for both victims to determine the precise cause of death.
