Two dead and two injured in North Carolina family shooting

A fatal shooting at a North Carolina family home has resulted in two deaths and two critical injuries. On Thursday morning, Gaston County police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on Forbes Road in Gastonia. Officers discovered four victims with gunshot wounds; Victoria “Heather” Moore, 50, and Megan “Josiah” Bumgardner, 38, were pronounced dead at the scene. The two survivors were transported to CaroMont Regional Medical Center in critical but stable condition.

Authorities identified suspects Camryn Moore, 26, and Cory Armstrong, 29, who allegedly fled the scene shortly after the incident. Investigators noted that the victims and suspects appeared to know one another, characterizing the violence as an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community.

A multi-state manhunt involving the U.S. Marshals Service led authorities to Athens, Ohio, on Friday morning. Following a high-speed pursuit where the suspects refused to stop for spike strips, their vehicle crashed. Law enforcement reported hearing gunshots from within the wreckage. Subsequent drone surveillance confirmed that both Moore and Armstrong were dead inside the vehicle. The exact cause of death and whether the suspects shot themselves remains under investigation by Ohio authorities.
