Tocantins plane crash kills Hospital São Lucas owners Ederson da Silva and Roseli Pechulo

A small aircraft took off from the City Fly aerodrome in Palmas, Tocantins, and shortly after heard a loud “estalo”. The plane lost altitude and crashed in a rural area of chalets between Palmas and Lajeado. The crash killed Dr. Ederson da Silva, 68, and his wife Roseli Amarilda Pechulo Silva, 62, who owned Hospital São Lucas in Redenção, Pará. The pilot, Hamilton Lopes, survived with injuries and was taken to the Hospital Geral de Palmas.

Police Military, the Corpo de Bombeiros, SAMU and other rescue teams responded, isolating the site and conducting victim recovery. The victims were identified by the Instituto Médico Legal. The cause of the accident is under investigation by aviation authorities.
