Two escaped minors recaptured near Irún park in Spain

Police from the Joint Hendaya‑Irún precinct located two of the five youths who had fled the Sograndio Juvenile Center in Oviedo four days earlier. The teenagers were spotted near the Santiago Children’s Park in Irún during a routine security sweep. Officers identified them, confirmed outstanding judicial orders for their detention and return, and took them into custody. The youths were transferred to police facilities for verification, after which they were returned to the Sograndio center. The escape had been triggered by an organized assault on the center’s guards, during which five security staff were injured. The court in Oviedo had previously issued search, arrest and re‑entry warrants for the minors, which remained in force at the time of their recapture.
