Greece reports several fatal accidents in July 2026

A 78-year-old foreign woman drowned in the "Kato Stalos" area of Chania on the morning of 16 July and was pronounced dead at the General Hospital of Chania.

In Chalkidiki, a severe traffic collision on the Provincial Road Polygyrou–Agios Nikolaos near Metamorphosis resulted in the deaths of a mother and her infant, with two other occupants seriously injured.

Another incident in Chalkidiki involved an 86-year-old man who died while attempting to escape a fire in the Flogita area.

In Aspropyrgos, one of the multiple victims of a recent multi‑injury incident succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
