Two fatal truck collisions reported in Japan

In Fukuoka Prefecture, a dump truck traveling in the wrong direction collided head‑on with an oncoming truck on a bypass road. Both vehicles suffered severe damage to the driver’s area; the truck driver was confirmed dead about three hours after the crash, while the dump‑truck driver remained conscious and was taken to hospital.

In Ibaraki Prefecture’s city of Tsukuba, a truck and a passenger car collided head‑on on a prefectural road. The impact caused the truck to catch fire and be reduced to a charred wreck. One occupant of the truck died, a second was seriously injured, and the driver of the passenger car also sustained injuries and was hospitalized. Police are investigating the causes of both accidents.
