Two Indians Missing After Ship Collision at Odessa Port
On 25 July a vessel identified as MV GN Ragnarr collided with another ship at Ukraine's Odessa port. Four Indian nationals were aboard; the Indian Embassy in Kyiv confirmed that two have been rescued, while information on the remaining two is still pending. The embassy has launched a search‑and‑rescue operation and provided emergency contact details for families.
The incident follows a recent attack on a commercial ship in the Black Sea on 18 July, which also involved Indian crew members and resulted in one fatality. Indian officials have condemned attacks on civilian shipping and are coordinating with Ukrainian authorities to ensure the safety of their citizens.
"Two have been confirmed safe, and we are awaiting news on the other two," the embassy said, urging anyone with information to contact the provided hotline.
