Two Iranian Revolutionary Guard members killed in western Iran attack

An armed assault on a convoy of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the western city of Bāow resulted in the deaths of two guards, identified as Burhan Krisani and Khalid Khalidinia, and injured two others. The assailants opened fire from concealed positions, using automatic weapons, and fled the scene. Iranian authorities described the incident as a terrorist act and launched an investigation to identify the attackers, with some speculation linking them to Kurdish militant groups operating near the border.

The attack follows a recent U.S.–Iran memorandum of understanding that called for a cease‑fire on all fronts and outlined steps to lift maritime sanctions.
