Two Italian women celebrate 100th birthdays
Two women in Italy are celebrating their 100th birthdays, marking a century of personal and community history.
In Corridonia, Lina De Luca celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family and local officials. Born in 1926, De Luca was the owner of the Cantina di Castigna in Cerqueto for over thirty years. She is also recognized for her contributions to local culture, having won a poetry competition for her work in the Marchigiano dialect. Corridonia Mayor Giuliana Giampaoli presented her with a commemorative parchment to honor the milestone.
In Castellammare del Golfo, Ninfa Lentini also reached the age of 100. Born in 1926, Lentini studied at the University of Palermo and graduated with honors in Letters and Philosophy in 1956. She went on to a career as a teacher in Luino. Mayor Giuseppe Fausto praised her resilience and her early commitment to teaching literacy to those in her community.
