Two men charged in murder of Andy Louissant in Santo Domingo

Authorities in Santo Domingo are seeking preventive prison for José Antonio Martínez Joseph and Juan Gabriel Marte Ramírez, known as ‘El Diamante’, in connection with the murder of Andy Louissant.

According to the Ministerio Público, the crime was motivated by an economic dispute regarding an outstanding debt. Martínez, a close associate of the victim, allegedly conspired with Marte Ramírez to plan and execute the killing on September 10, 2026. The victim was intercepted following a business meeting arrangement and subsequently assaulted.

Investigators discovered Louissant’s body hidden beneath a staircase within a newly constructed concrete structure at ‘Martínez Fashion Import’, a business owned by Martínez in the Buenos Aires de Herrera sector. The victim’s body was found bound by the hands and feet with adhesive tape and electrical wires, with the mouth sealed. A vehicle used during the crime also showed traces and the odor of blood.
