Two men indicted in death of British national in Gers
Two men have been indicted and placed in detention following the death of an 84-year-old British national in Verlus, a small commune in the Gers department of France.
The victim was discovered in late September with a head wound and multiple signs of violence outside his home. According to the Agen prosecutor's office, the investigation is focused on “theft preceded, accompanied, or followed by violence resulting in death.”
The suspects, aged 32 and 26, were identified after a police pursuit involving a vehicle in Mont-de-Marsan. The 32-year-old suspect reportedly has a criminal record including 21 previous convictions, primarily for theft.
